I just learned over the weekend that Neil Postman died last October. I can't believe I missed it--I would have noted it in my B&C blog. That means that three of the most imaginative and accomplished cultural critics of the 20th century--all of them contemporaries of Marshall McLuhan-- died in 2003: Postman, Hugh Kenner, and Walter Ong.
